About
Rochelle Robinson works with organizations to achieve success in the areas of business management, information technology, and finance.
By combining her personal experience and education, she has been able to help companies grow. She has worked with key stakeholders to recommend solutions utilizing her knowledge of current trends, and developed processes and tools that resulted in revenue-generating growth. She has worked with clients on projects ranging from opportunity identification to proposal development to contract award, establishing new business relationships when appropriate, and adjusting existing business operations to improve sales and profit.
Rochelle started her career working as a web developer and later launched her own successful web consulting firm, working with nonprofit and government agencies to enhance their online presence. She focused on design, custom application development, and online advocacy. Her clients included numerous small businesses as well as Communities In Schools, Ms. Magazine, America Online, The Washington Post, The White House, Futures Group, Northern Virginia Community College, and FEMA.
As her business grew, more small business owners were contacting her with an interest in how technology could improve their own businesses. As part of the process for developing a solid and professional online identity, Rochelle worked with clients to identify the target audience, understand business operations, and discover the company goals. Rochelle wanted to know where the company wanted to go, whether through increased sales, targeted marketing campaigns, or simply sharing more information. This proved to be more challenging than expected.
Rochelle quickly realized that most companies don’t have a clear sense of direction or long-term plan because they are so heavily focused on the day-to-day operations. Most small business owners wear multiple hats and are not able to articulate who their target audience is and how they plan to reach them. Taking a moment to pause and reflect on the organization was extremely refreshing to everyone involved.
Rochelle discovered that she loved working with businesses – both small and large. She learned that it was often hard for people to turn even the most brilliant ideas into reality. Her transition to business management consulting was natural, and she has never looked back.
Rochelle currently holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer studies with a minor in business management from the University of Maryland. She resides in Fairfax County, Va., right outside Washington, D.C.
